🏸 Terms of Reference: SSBC Captaincy

1. Term Limit
+A member may hold the Captain position for a maximum of two (2) terms only.
+One term is defined as a 1-year duration.

2. Nomination Process
+During the nomination process, all current club/group members will be automatically nominated for the captaincy post.

3. Eligibility
+There is no age limit for contesting the captaincy or for voting.

4. Voting Rights
+Each member is entitled to only one (1) vote.
+Voting is a right, and members are encouraged to exercise it responsibly.

5. Voting by Proxy (for Members Without Phone Access)
+If a member does not own a phone or is not in the group chat, a next of kin may vote on their behalf with proper consent.
+Consent must be proven by a voice message from the member (e.g., Alif may send a voice note to authorize Anis to vote on his behalf).

6. Voting Ethics
+Voters must not be influenced, coerced, or bribed.
+All voting will be conducted in a democratic and transparent manner.

7. Voting Period
+Voting shall take place on the scheduled date between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

8.Results
+Results is final.The candidate with the highest vote will be declared as the captain of the club for a year and the candidate with the 2nd most vote will be the deputy.

9.DO NOT CHANGE THE CLUB'S NAME
+If the is no clear majority,we will decide with a badminton match.

SSBC Captain: Guidelines, Roles & Responsibilities
✅ General Guidelines:
1. Lead by Example – Uphold discipline, punctuality, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.

2. Be Approachable – Encourage open communication between members and the committee.

3. Stay Neutral & Fair – Treat all players equally regardless of skill level.

4. Commitment – Regularly attend practices, matches, and meetings.

🎯 Core Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Training & Match Coordination
+Organise or assist in weekly practice sessions.
+Book court for Sunday practice at 4 PM after attendance is confirmed in the group on every Thursday or Friday.
+Form match line-ups, doubles pairings, and tournament entries.
+Ensure fair playtime distribution during internal games.

2. Stock
+Monitor and distribute shuttlecocks to players upon request.
+Ensure timely purchase and availability of shuttlecocks.

3. Team Motivation & Welfare
+Motivate team members during matches and training.
+Support new or junior members in integrating with the team.
+Encourage participation in club activities and events.
+Arrange friendly matches with other clubs.

4. Communication
+Share key information such as match schedules, changes, and announcements.
+Manage internal communication platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, email).
+Remind members about attendance and punctuality.

5. Event Involvement
+Assist in planning and executing club events like tournaments, fundraisers, and team-building sessions.

6. Discipline & Conduct
+Ensure club rules are followed.
+Address any conflicts or issues between members; escalate to the committee when necessary.

7. Finance
+Collect payment from each player after games.
+Assist in preparing budget proposals for equipment, jerseys, or other club needs.
+To update the club savings on regular basis

The captain may request assistance from the Deputy Captain or other members to help fulfill any roles or responsibilities when necessary.
